What do you need?
cut out pattern
a nice pencil
a piece of black felt
head pins
scissors
piece of fiberfill
hobby glue
2 red beads
black thread & needle
a glue gun
We are making a fun gift for a boy whose birthday is in October. We make a bat pencil with glitter on the pencil and a bat from felt. The somewhat older monsters can make the pencil themselves. We do it together with them because there is cutting, pasting and sewing involved. But our monsters can do anything!
How to make a bat pencil
Download and print our template and then cut out the bat twice
Pin the bat on the felt.
Cut it out and repeat it.
Pin the 2 bats together.
Pull the fiber fill apart.
Pin the bat on top.
Cut it out and repeat it.
Sew the beads on the bat.
Tie off the thread firmly!
Glue the fiberfill inside the bat.
Do the same with the second one bat.
Let the glue dry for a moment.
Cut two circles out of fiberfill and stick both on the bats.
Let the glue dry a moment again and stick the bats together.
Spread glue from the glue gun on top of the pencil, insert the pencil between the two circles of fiberfill and press. Make sure you glue the hole shut.
