What do you need?
a small bowl
piece of cling film
long grass and twigs
hobby glue
piece of air drying clay
Acrylic paint: turquois, white and brown
a small paint brush
Today we are birds and we are going to build a nest. The kids have a lot of fun searching for long grass and cutting off twigs in the garden. When we found everything we need we take it inside. We put the twigs immediately in some water, they should stay flexible until later.
When the nest needs to dry, the mini monsters would also like to make a few eggs to put in the nest, of course you may!
How to build a nest with eggs
Cover a small bowl with cling film.
Wrap grass around your hand, stick in twigs and drip some glue on.
Make layers of grass and twigs, drip glue between layers.
Allow the nest to dry completely on both sides.
Give the bird's nest time to dry completely then take it from the bowl and remove the cling film.
Flip the nest upside down and let the bottem dry well too, meanwhile we model the eggs.
Knead a piece of clay until it is soft.
Roll eggs between your hands.
Allow the eggs to dry overnight.
When the clay and the bird's nest are completely dry you can paint the eggs.
Mix the turqoise paint with a little bit of white.
Speckle the eggs lightly with brown paint.
Now you can put the eggs in your bird's nest, next time we make a bird!
