We are making a Birthday Crown for someone who will soon turn 6 and who loves mushrooms and autumn. You can make such a crown in several ways, today we choose felt and embroidery. We first drew, printed and cut out and now we put the pattern online for you. Just in case you're having a party for a 6 year old Autumn child soon!
How to make a Birthday Crown from wool felt
Pin the pattern on felt and cut it out.
Also cut out the slightly larger part 2.
Pin on and cut out the llittle parts, like grass and mushroom.
Cut out the number, choose any number on the pattern.
Cut out the fox too, with all the parts.
Decide how you want to use the pattern.
Pin the parts on and start embroidering.
Use matching colours of thread and sew with the stitches you like, we use small basting and back stitches
Sew the number in the center.
We place the fox next to it.
Pin and sew on the white parts.
Embroider the eyes and the nose.
Now the little fox is done but we have a small open space...
We sew on an autumn leaf in the empty spot and are happy now.
Pin the crown parts together and place the ribbon between them, sew it on in 1 go.
Embroider the top layer of the crown with a backstitch onto the bottom layer.
Finish the top by using the blanket stitch.
We have worked hard and are happy with our crown!
We think our birthday boy will be very pleased when he wakes up to this! Happy Birthday to you!
