Shopping list
For the trifle

100g cherries, pitted
1 ripe mango, diced
50g sponge cake

25g amaretti cookies
200g heavy cream
2 tablespoons caster sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Decoration

Today we finish the summer trifle with cherries and mango. The recipe comes from one of our favorite websites Bake to the Roots and it's called the Giant Summer Trifle. Use a large bowl because we only made half of the recipe! Except for the custard, we freeze what's left ;))

How to make the Giant Summer Trifle

Preparation

Cut the cake into thick slices and then into small cubes.

Whip the cream until stiff with the sugar and vanilla.

Cut the mango and pit the cherries (if you have fresh ones).

Get the jelly and the custard from the fridge.

How to build the trifle

Place cake cubes on the jelly, cover with custard.

Place a layer of cherries on top of the custard.

Cover the cherries also with custard.

Place gingerbread cookies and mango on top.

Spoon whipped cream on top and smoothen it.

Cover the trifle with cling film.

Let the whipped cream set in the fridge.

Pipe a ring of whipped cream on the Summer Trifle.

Press fruit and Ameretti biscuits into the cream.
