Now there are so many acorns to find in the forest we want to do something fun with them. We make acorn Men. Start by drilling holes in the acorns, with a large needle. The skin is hard, so be careful!
How to make Acorn Men
Cut a piece of wire about 10 cm long.
Bend the wire into a loop and twist the ends together.
Then cut the loop on the underside.
Drip some glue on the top side of the wire.
Stick the wire into the acorn (head), press it on and let the glue dry.
Cut a piece of wire of 6 cm for arms, twist it underneath the head.
Draw wit a permanent marker eyes on the head and glue the hat back on.
Create multiple wire figurines with long or short arms and legs, large and small heads. Standing, sitting or lying down.
Knead clay around the wire bodies, first roll a cylinder.
Give a cut in the cylinder with a plastic knife.
Place the wire arms en legs legs in it then press the clay closed.
Model the figures in shape and let the clay dry for 48 hours.
Let mini-monsters happily dabble on there own with the acorns and the clay, then you really get a variety of acorn men!
