Who does not know the funny Minions from the movie 'Despicable me'? On youtube you can meet them in all shapes and sizes and from all kinds of materials. Today Madelief makes a Minion all by herself, after her own idea, from FIMO polymere clay.
! Crafting with FIMO is recommended for children of 8 years and older. We feel children under 10 years old can safer craft with 'Das' clay or make your own bread dough for them to play with. Please download and read carefully the instructions for use of FIMO by the manufacturer!
Start by kneading a little yellow and roll it in an oval.
Shape a face with glasses on top, downward arms and hands.
Knead a piece of blue FIMO to make the pants.
Roll the FIMO not too thin with a roller or a bottle.
Cut out the pants without legs using a plastic knife.
Scoop the pants carefully from the worksurface with the knife.
Press the pants onto the body and smoothen it with your fingers.
Knead another piece of blue FIMO soft.
Roll it flat and cut out the legs, joined together.
Place the Minion on the legs and press it on.
Shape little feet and shape the logo on the pants.
Preheat the oven to 110°C maximum. FIMO must never be baked longer than 30 minutes, then it causes toxic fumes.
Madelief wants to make it into a magnet, so the Minion will stick on the refrigerator and also on your metal white board or on your computer.
Slide the Minion on tinfoil, place it in the oven and bake it 30 minutes.
Cooled completely you can drip glue on the back and on the magnet.
Press the magnet firmly on, let the glue dry and stick your minion on any metal object!
Do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly after using FIMO. Scrub your nails thoroughly clean with a nail brush as well, FIMO is really toxic!
