For New Year's Eve we make an easy snack that everyone really likes: German Flammkuchen. They are easy to make, quick to prepare and very tasty. Perfect for a festive evening. Plus, you can make a lot of them at once! Sometimes we eat them for lunch, but then we make them a lot bigger!
How to make Flammkuchen
Preheat the oven to 200°C and place waxed paper on the baking tray
Roll out the puff pastry on the baking tray.
Spread crème fraîche over the dough.
Spread the onion rings over the dough.
Sprinkle the lean bacon strips over the onions.
Finally sprinkle a thick layer of cheese on top of the bacon.
While the Flammkuchen bake in the oven you can quickly make a salad
Clean the vegetables.
Cut the carrots into match sticks.
Stir the dressing.
The Flammkuchen are golden.
Cut the puff pastry Flammkuchen into large wedges for lunch, or small wedges for snacking
At lunch we serve them with salad and tomatoes.
With the snacks we also serve tomato ketchup on the side!
Happy New Years Eve!
