Shopping list for 6 financiers
40g sifted flour
¼ teaspoon baking powder
120g sifted icing sugar
45g almond flour
4 free range eggs
65g butter
50g raspberries
We stick to the French recipes for a little longer. These originally French Financiers - which we've been wanting to make for a while now - are a delicious dessert. Elegant cakes to go with you tea or coffee. They are light, fluffy and have a subtle almond flavour. A very tasty end to the meal!
How to make French Financiers
Sift flour and baking powder.
Add the icing sugar.
And the almond flour too,
Stir until combined.
Add the egg whites to the bowl too.
Mix it all thoroughly with a wire whisk.
Melt the butter on low heat.
In the mean time preheat the oven to 170°C
Grease the molds, place on a tray covered in waxed paper.
Remove the butter from the heat when starting to brown,
Mix the butter into the batter, let it rest 5-10 minutes.
Pour it into the molds and press in raspberries.
Bake the financiers in 12-15 minutes golden.
Allow them to cool in the molds.
Tap them from the mold and cool completely.
Dust the financiers lightly with icing sugar.
