Ganesha's Sweet Tooth is a beautiful picture book, loosely based on an ancient legend in Hindu mythology. It is not an exact retelling but a funny picture book for young children that we like to read to them and not just with Diwali. The mini-monsters like the story very much! The drawings are beautiful and funny. The elephant and the mouse they think are very cute and we think so too :)
The story is written by the American Emily Haynes, editor by day and writer of children's books by night. American Pixar animator and storyboard artist Sanjay Patel created the brilliant illustrations, more of his work can be found here.
At the end of the book Emily Haynes en Sanjay Patel write together: "Our wish is that the readers will be entertained and enchanted by Ganesha and Mr Mouse and inspired to learn more about the rich and varied Hindu mythology". That wish could very well come true, we believe.
