The fish is an important motif in Chinese mythology. There are many Chinese myths and images, which depict fish. The character for fish (in pin yin: yu) means - as it is pronounced in the fourth tone - abundance.
Thus the fish for Chinese people has become synonymous with wealth or abundance. We thought it might be fun to make fish for Chinese New Year. Goldfish in this case, which will make sure that 2014 will be a rich year, a year of plenty.
Plenty of what we do not know yet but if it does not work with the abundance than the fish will still look pretty on your fridge or magnetic board; D
The ratio of water - gypsum is from 1 to 1.5. 4 cups water = 1 part
Put in six wascups of plaster which is 1.5 part.
Let the gypsum rest for 2 minutes then stir plaster and water together.
Pour the paster in the mold and tap it on the table to prevent air bubbles.
Leave the plaster fish to dry until the next day.
Press the fish out of the silicon mold.
Smoothen the edges using a small knife.
Paint the fish with acrylic glitter paint and allow the paint to dry two hours.
Brush a layer of varnish on the fish and let it dry for an hour.

Stick on wobbly eyes and decorate the fish with a gold marker.
