Last year this wonderful book Easy Peasy was published in the Dutch translation. The book was written by Australian Kirsten Bradley. It is a brilliant book because it makes connections that make it clear to children how dependent people are on nature. Together with the plants and animals we have to keep our 'house' in order. So far we're making a mess of it!
The book is so much fun to read, it explains how you can grow all kinds of plants and flowers. How good that is for insects, who in their turn then help you to make more plants, which you can eat again. You will learn how to attract pollinators to your garden, how to grow vegetables in your kitchen and how to make seed bombs. But you can also search for insects and learn how to build a bean fort.
