sharp knife (adult!!)
Sturdy metal spoon
light (preferably LED, if not a tea candle)
It's the pumpkin season again. Find your most beautiful pumpkins at the local greengrocer, the market or the graden centre so you can make super nice Halloween lanterns, together with the mini monsters.
This is how you make a Jack 'o Lantern
Cut off the top of the pumpkin with a sharp knife.
Please let a grown up do it for you.
Scoop seads and fiber out of the pumpkin, a nasty job!
It's hard getting all the slimy fibers and seeds out.
Do not throw away the pumpkin meat, it makes a lovely soup. We make that soup tomorrow.
Scrape the inside of the pumpkin clean.
Draw a creepy face on your pumpkin.
Madelief drew scary pumpkin faces.
Ask a maxi monster to cut out the faces.
Eefje's pumkin turned out great too.
Now we have to wait until dark!
All the lanterns need now is for you to put a LED light in. If you use a tea candle instead of LED do not forget to remove the top of the pumpkin when it's lit.
