What do you need?
a fresh tree leaf
watercolour paper
acrylic paint, in autumn colors
paint brushes
an A4 photo frame
There's nothing more fun for our mini-monsters than to happily 'work' with paint. They are colouring fresh leaves today, with acrylic paint in beautiful autumn colours. Then all they have to do is press the leaves onto the paper and there you have a beautiful painting!
How to make an autumn leaves painting
Colour the 'good' side of the leaf with paint.
Press it with the painted side on the paper.
Choose various pretty colours but don't paint to thick.
Then the paint - pressed on the paper - looks like this.
Arrange the leaves in different directions.
With a bit more paint or less.
Paint the same leaf in multiple colours.
Or paint colours over each other.
Light on top of dark.
Or rather vice versa.
Experiment with the effects.
We don't have to tell this to the mini-monsters, they do it all on their own already, so clever!
Press parts of the leaf on the corners.
Let the leaf overlap the other leafs.
Let the paint dry well.
Frame your painting when the paint is completely dry.
Now we put our paintings in a nice spot!
