Turn pine cones and wooden beads into these cheerful little gnomes. They are quickly made and they look lovely on the autumn table. We sew shoes, hats and hands, all with the blanket stitch. The little ones can also make the gnomes, they can glue the shoes, hands and hats instead of sewing them.
How to make Pine Cone Gnomes
Pick out pine cones with a stub that fits the beads.
Twist pipe cleaners around the pine cone, cut them off.
Drizzle some glue into the pine cone so the arms stay tight.
Attach legs to the pine cones in the same manner.
Attach the bead heads to the pine cones with a drop of glue.
Cut from folded felt shoes or download our pattern.
Fold the cut out shoes double and nick a tiny slit in the shoes.
Then the gnome feet fit into the shoes later on.
Sew the shoes closed with the blanket stitch.
This is how a shoe looks when it is done.
Stick in the needle, pull the thread until you have a small loop.
Insert the needle into the loop and pull the thread tight.
Sew all the shoes closed with the blanket stitch.
Pin the pattern on the felt and cut it out.
Fold the hats, sew until closed.
Glue the hats on the theads.
Draw faces on the beads.
Sew hands with the blanket stitch.
Glue the hands on the arms.
Make fun scenes with your autumn treasures.
Happy Autumn Break!
