Today we read Het Boompje (The Little Tree), a beautiful Christmas picture book by artist Loek Koopmans. The book is a bit older but not as old as the poem by Friederich Rückert (1788-1866) whose story has been edited. The book is very well known in anthroposophy, in the free school it is read at Christmas. We think it is a sweet and instructive book and for the same reason we also like to read it to the mini-monsters.
The prints are so beautiful, the landscape, the animals and the children, all painted in soft winter colours. Very special, no wonder that it has been a beloved Christmas book since its publication. Do mind! Sadly this book is not translated into English
