Not a traditional Halloween story this year, but a beautiful Greek myth, about a monster and a labyrinth. A thrilling story that people once thought was true. It is an opera with music by Johan Sebatian Bach, edited for children by Frank Groothof, and a CD is included. The nice illustrations in the book are made by Gytha Bosma.
Long story very short: Four thousand years ago a Minotaur lived in Crete, a bloodthirsty monster, half a man - half a bull. King Minos was in charge of Crete and he had the monster locked up in a maze. He made a law that every spring 7 boys and 7 girls were picked up by his ship and all countries across the sea had to take their turn. They would serve as food for the monster and this time it was Athen's turn. Then something unexpected happens ... It is an exciting story of which we do not tell the outcome here, but a lot more exciting twists and turns will happen before the story ends.
3 beautiful shining stars for Het monster van het labyrint (The monster of the labyrinth)!
