Today we read another very old but beautiful picture book by Freddie Langeler to the children. It is called The Summer Party andnd this picture book is certainly a joy to read! The whole text is written in verse again. Children and animals have a great day together at The summer party. There is bunting and balloons everywhere, there is even a real carousel!

After a fun ride in a packed carriage, the children arrive at the party site, the cheerful party atmosphere is already in full swing! There is plenty to do at the summer party: you can go see a show, there are merry-go-rounds and you can ride in carousels, there are (Dutch) oliebollen and finally they drink the most delicious lemonade, under a large mushroom. Then it's time to go home.
