What do you need?
various wooden pegdolls
a pencil
acrylic paint
paint brushes
vanish and a brush
small piece of black card stock
glue
a black marker
cube of wood, 1.5 x 1.5 cm
ferret drill
cocktail pricker
And here they finally are: the Residents of Creepy Village, ready to move into their new residence! We like the new residents to look funny but you can also make them look really scary if you like.
Snazzie's tips for excellent paintwork:
- draw the different parts on the dolls using a pencil then colour it in, with paint
- paint in parts, let the paint dry completely in between, then you can hold your dolls steady when painting
- trace unsteady lines with a marker to make the lines look neat
- to make the tiny details - buttons or eyes for example - you best use a marker or a wooden skewer
How to make The Witch
Draw a face on the Witch.
Paint the hat of the witch black.
Paint the body black too.
Fill the face in with paint.
Cut out a black card stock circle.
Prick a hole, cut out triangles to fit the head.
Paint hands and a face on the witch.
Dracula
Draw Dracula's hair, outline his shirt.
Pain the rest all black including his hair.
Paint his shirt, his bow tie, draw his face.
Frankenstein
Saw a dolls head off, drill a hole in the top of the body.
Saw off a cube, drill a hole in it as well.
Paint Frankenstein's head green, paint the hair black.
Paint a jacket, a shirt and trousers on the body.
Glue the head on top of the body, using a tiny stick in between.
Paint the face, hands and feet, hammer two nails in the head.
The Ghost and The Skeleton
Paint the ghost all white.
Draw it's face with the marker.
Paint the skeleton all black.
Paint on his bones in white.
The Mummie
Draw a face on the mummie.
Paint the rest of it 2 times, all white.
Draw on bandages then paint eyes.
Now all the Villagers are ready but do give them a coat of varnis, to keep the paint fresh.
Varnish the dolls in 2 parts, allow them to dry overnight!
Now the village is ready for some serious playing.
