Today we are making twisties with the mini monsters. We will show them how to do it first, because it is quite difficult for small hands. But once they get the hang of it, it goes very well and they enjoy it!
We are twisting it outside, in the garden because the weather is beautiful. But when we show the kids, we immediately notice that it is not easy to untie a double knot with one hand >< That has to change...
How to make Twisties
Cut off long threads.
Tie a knot on top.
Tie a double knot on the chair.
Pull the thread tight and twist.
Twist the threads to the left or the right but hold them firmly, if you let go you have to start all over again
From the doorhandle you can easily slide off the tied threads.
When ready with twisting walk to the door and slide the loop off.
When you bring the ends together they instantly twist into a pretty cord.
Tip!
- If you twist in opposite directions with two people, it goes really fast!
- When you are ready twisting you walk towards each other and the twistie will swirl itself together
Tie a knot in the other end too and trim the threads until even.
