150ml boiling water
75g caster sugar
250g plums
1 cinnamon stick
1-2 star anise
A healthy yogurt dessert becomes much more attractive with some of this delicious plum compôte as accompaniment. A recipe by Miss Sophie Dahl.
How to make the plum compôte
Cut the plums in half, remove the stones.
Heat a saucepan with the boiling water.
Add the sugar, let it boil for 30 seconds.
Add the plums, the cinnamon and the star anise.
Place the plum mixture on low heat then let it softly simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Remove the plums, stir gently until the syrup thickens.
Pour the syrup over the plums and seal the jar.
The plum cômpote tastes lovely with a yogurt dessert or with your morning porridge.
