400g can chickpeas
1 garlic clove, crushed
½ lemon, juiced
2 tablespoon tahine
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons water
250g baby carrots
sprigs of parseley
small terracotta plant pots
For the children, this time we make a healthy snack in addition to all the sweets that belong to Eid al Fitr. We found the recipe on the Kids Cooking website from the BBC. The small carrot pots look so cute that the kids will love to eat them. To dip with the carrots is fun too of course!
Here is how you make the Baby-carrot - Hummus Pots
Rinse the peas well, let drain then put in the blender.
Add the pressed garlic to the chickpeas.
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon in as well.
Add the tahine and the olive oil to the blender.
Add carefully pepper and salt.
Blend until all is smooth.
Stir in the water to loosen the hummus a little.
Pipe the hummus into the pots, prick holes in the carrots and fill the holes with hummus.
Stick a parsely sprig in each baby-carrot.
Finally stick the carrots in the pots.
Have lots of fun on Eid al Fitr!
