I'll root for you

I'll root for you by Edward van de Vendel is a children's poetry book. For athletes and supporters (we read on the back) but the book is also great fun for parents to read to their kids. Even if you don't like sports at all, this is a great book because the poems by Edward van de Vendel are brilliant, without exaggeration.

 

The humor, the witty language finds and the rhythm of his poems are wonderful. We wanted to illustrate this blog with our three favorite poems but it was not do-able (new word) to choose. They are all equally good.

 

Wolf Erlbruch's illustrations - Germany's best-known and most award-winning writer / illustrator - blend perfectly with the poems. The animal heads have so much expression, they are funny but sometimes also touchingly drawn. They make great contribution to the book. The little listeners as well as the readers unanimously agree, this is a great book and also a lovely gift!
