To read to the little monsters on Whitsun we bought a book about doves and it's called Imagine. In this book you will find doves of all colours, not just white ones ;) and it brings a message of hope and peace. Imagine with text by John Lennon is an important book.
Children of today presumably have no image to go with the name John Lennon, but every grandfather and grandmother can probably sing the words to his song Imagine from 1971. The message of the song was powerful in the seventies but after all this time it's strength has not been weakened. In today's world the message might be even more important than back then.
The funny, cheerful coloured illustrations are from the French Graphic Artist Jean Jullien. He also made the peace symbol with the Eiffel tower, which immediately went viral on the Internet after the attacks on Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
Around the same time, you could hear Imagine being played everywhere, like just after John Lennon's death in 1980. Imagine is published in partnership with Human Rights Organization Amnesty International. Buy the book for your children or buy it for someone as a gift!
