George and the Dragon by English artist/children's author Chris Wormell is, in our opinion, one of the best Dragon books ever. He not only wrote the book, he also illustrated it beautifully. Plus, this book is so funny! There is not only a nasty dragon but also a beautiful princess and a cute mouse.
With one mighty blow of his magnificent tail, the dragon punches a huge hole in the palace wall and kidnaps the princess! The princess keeps repeating that the dragon has to put her down, but is he listening to her? No!
Then George the Mouse moves into the empty cave next to that of the dragon. The bat that lived there first had found something better and moved out. You can read how the story about the dragon, the Princess and the Mouse undfolds in the book, but ... we'll give you a hint: watch out for the mouse!
