300g all pupose flour
125g light brown caster sugar
150g butter (room temperature)
1 free range egg yolk (room temp.)
4 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons mixed spices
2 icing pens, white and red
silver pearls and sprinkles
December is the right time for spicy cookies, that's why we make these fun gingerbread men today. When gets cold outside they taste extra good with a mug of hot chocolate!
How to make the gingerbread men
Sieve the flour in a bowl, add the sugar.
Also add the soft butter and the egg yolk.
Pour in the milk and add the spices.
Knead all together into a smooth dough.
Roll the dough cylinder in cling film.
Roll the dough to 1cm thickness.
Cut out the gingerbread men.
Place the gingerbread man 30 minutes into the refrigerator so they will not run out during baking!
Preheat the oven to 170 ° C
Place the cookies on baking paper on a tray.
Bake the cookies in 15 minutes golden brown.
Press eyes and buttons in some icing.
Squeeze out mouths of the red icing.
Press eyes and silver buttons in white icing.
Store the cookies in an airtight jar or container.
