Not everyone likes to craft their own Fairy Door. You can also buy a craft door and make it beautiful after your own idea. We bought these doors for € 2.95 and we really like them. We make cute spring doors by painting them pastel colours and decorate with polymere clay! Air drying clay is also fine, but then you have to paint it.
Here is how we made the Spring Fairy doors
The doors are very rough, so you have to sand them well first.
We use a sandpaper file to sand between the edges.
Remove the dust and paint the doors a pretty colour.
Allow the paint to dry well before starting on the band.
We paint both bands white.
The door knobs gold.
The paint has to dry completely.
Saw the slats to the size of the door and paint both slats white
While the paint dries you can already start to clay, first for the pink door
For which we clay hearts and flowers
Roll the clay thinly.
Cut out shapes.
Bake the clay shapes in the oven.
Stick the slats on and under the doors.
Allow the glue to dry completely
Optional you can brush the clay figures with a matt or glossy varnish, then they stay beautiful longer
Stick the clay shapes on and around your door.
The blue door gets a sea theme.
We clay sea shells, a crab and star fish.
Stick the sea shapes on your door.
Now just find a nice place for your Fairy door!
