2 x 150g organic yoghurt
3 oranges
pinch ground cinnamon
2 star anise
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
10g roasted almond flakes
Today we make Labneh with spiced orange slices, an originally Lebanese recipe. You need just a few ingredients and it is very tasty. We add 2 tablespoons of clear honey, because everyone here likes it sweet and then the Labneh tastes even better!
How to make Labneh with spiced orange slices
Place a mousseline cloth in a sieve.
Place the sieve on a bowl and spoon in the yogurt.
Spoon the yogurt after the 24 hour drain in a piping bag.
Day 2
Optional: stir honey into the Labneh, fill a piping bag with it and place the pipingbag in the refrigerator
How to make the spiced orange slices
Peel the oranges.
Cut them into thin slices.
Squeeze a halve (or a whole) orange.
Put 4-5 tablespoons orange juice in a saucepan.
Add the star anise and cinnamon to the pan.
Finally add the vanilla extract to the orange mixture.
Let the juice simmer for 1-2 minutes on medium heat.
Add the orange slices to the saucepan and let them gently warm through on low heat for a moment
Divide the Labneh over 2 jars or bowls.
Drizzle the orange juice over the Labneh.
Top with sliced oranges.
Roast the sliced almonds in a dry frying pan.
Sprinkle the Labneh with spiced orange with roasted almonds.
