Spring is coming, although you would not say with this cold winter weather! The first two lambs were born in February, at Petting Zoo De Wilgenhof. We make lambs of fleece to put on the seasons table. Anthroposophically we're not correct this time, no felt or sheep's wool are used, but the lambs are terribly cute!
How to make the lambs
print and cut out the pattern parts as indicated
Cut out the pattern parts, pin them on the fabric.
Cut out the parts, body and tail 2x, the ears 4 times.
Belly and legs into one and top of the head only 1x.
Place 2x body on each other, pin top of head in between.
Pin tummy with legs to legs on the body.
Pin the nek and the back closed.
Now start with sewing.
Start on a hind leg, tie firmly on. Sew from one hind leg to the other, closing the rump at the same time
Sew on, along the tummy to the front leg.
Around the first front leg and the second, up to the tummy.
Leave the second side of the tummy open to fill.
Sew the chest and on, along the top of the head.
Sew on, then close neck and back too.
Stuff the lamb firmly, close the tummy.
Sew the tail, leave the bottom open.
Turn the tail and close it.
Sew ears, the underside open.
Turn the ears and close them.
Attach tail and ears to the lamb.
Stick the eyes and the nose into the head.
We'll make a second lamb as well, but then in black.
Happy Spring!
