Once you know how to weave, it becomes more and more fun to do and after practicing a few times it goes faster and faster. The first art works are still hanging on the wall here, the monsters are so proud of them! We started very simply, but soon the monsters could also make useful objects, such as beautiful bookmarks for example. But today we'll start simple!
How you can weave
Cut a rectangular piece of cardboard --x--cm.
Make marks on top and bottom, 1 cm apart and snip in.
Cut strings en lay them double under the branch.
Fold the loop over and pull the strings through the loop.
Pull the strings tight.
Tie on 8-9 strings in the same way.
Clamp the strings in the snips in top and bottom.
Poke the wool in and go up and under.
Weave back and go over and under, over and under.
Go back and forth as long als you like.
Cut of the wool and start again with another colour.
Let the weaved woolen threads hang, we will tie them off later
Weave thin wool with the emboidery needle.
The thick wool you can also weave with your fingers.
Keep going until the ends of the strings.
Remove your weaving gently from the weaving frame and tie de double threads at the bottom together
Cut too long ends of the woolen threads neatly off.
You can decorate the bottom of your weaving with beads or pompoms and tie a thread to hang it on the top.
