Today we visit LEGO World 2023, our last Autumn Break outing of this year. The mini monsters are very excited, they started already looking for their Ninjago cuddly toys when they heard we were going :) Today is the day and after parking the car we see a long, thick line of people, waiting to go inside.
The wait is long, it takes us more than half an hour before we can walk in. Standing like herrings in a barrel in between all those large people is not easy for our little monsters, but they bravely persevere and finally...here we go!
We first walk around to explore the different halls. Kids can build themselves - in various places - with lots of lego bricks in the same colour but also with a mix of bricks in mixed colours. It's fun to see what everyone comes up with. Too bad it is so crowed! That means a long wait because it's really full and chaotic.
The little monsters would like to go find Ninjago first anyway, it is now their favorite Lego theme. They watch the films and we read the Ninjago booklets to them and then they come up with entire scenario's by themselves to play out.
At home we are building on a training ground for the ninja's, where they are taught fighting skills by Master Wu. First they practice really well and then they all go and have tea. Until the baddies attack again and then it's a good thing the ninjas have been practicing.
Entire landscapes have been built here, the kids love it! We don't have that many Lego bricks at home. And guess what, on the way we meet the Ninjas and Master Wu is here too! There are also holograms in the Ninjago cave, but that is also really too busy for us.
We see so much, almost too much to mention! But Sonic the Hedgehog is of course also well known and very cute. On the other side we see a very, very big Bowser, but sadly it is to crowded to take a picture of him.
As we walk on we see an AT-AT from Star Wars and a large R2D2, it is build from lots and lots of Lego bricks. So cool! There is catering in every hall, so you can have a drink and a snack in between activities.
We pass a Harry Potter landscape through which the Hogwarts Express rides and Harry's white owl Hedwig flies over the castle. Jurrasic World is really beautiful with large and small Dinos. You can also take funny photos in the Dreamz Photo Booth, which is also super fun.
There are various performances to see. A number of adult LEGO Masters are on site, building something according to their own imagination and giving you building tips and tricks. There are also workshops you can participate in.
All in all is it a beautiful event, but to extensive en very overwhelming for our young monsters. It is very noisy with the big crowds, lots of waiting and too much of everthing really. We went early so about one o'clock we looked for the car and stopped for a tea, coffee and croissants lunch at McDonalds, on the way home.
The kids had a lot of fun today but we'll wait a few years until they are a little older before we go again. We keep it at Lego Scheveningen for the near future!
