knitting needles no. 2
powder pink wool, needles 2
white wool, needles two
large darning needle
2 black beads
thin sewing needle
black and white yarn
2 pompons
Today we knit cute bunny slippers for a doll. To knit the slippers you have to be able to count really well or write the rows down. You should be able to knit stitch, purl and decrease, if you know how to do this it's not difficult. Then you still have to sew the slippers together but maybe you have a sweet mum who will help you.

Cast on 29 stitches.
Row one knit all in knit stitch.
2: 9 knit, one purl, 9 knit, 1 purl, 9 knit.
Knit row 1 and 2 another 13 times.
Row 16: 1 purl, 1 knit, 1 purl stitch.
Row 17: 1 knit, 1 purl, 1 knit stitch.
Repeat row 16 and 17 three times.
Knit stitch row 24.
Cut off the knitting thread but leave +/- 10cm on you knitting to sew with.
Slide out the knitting needle and lace the big needle through the stitches.
Pull the thread all te way through the stitches.
Pull the thread tight and tie off but do not cut it!
Sew edges of the slipper together. Knit the second slipper.
Sew the upper edge together with 4 stitches.
Your slippers should resemble these ones.
Thread three strands through the eye of needle.
Lace them through the nose and knot.
Cut the strands to the desired length.
Sew two little beads on the head, the eyes.
Sew on each heel a white pompon, fasten it securely.
Now we knit two ears for each slipper but...the ears have a front and a back so instead of four we knit eight ears. It seems like a lot but they are only tiny and we knit two ears at the same time.
Here is how the ears go:
Cast on seven stitches twice on 1 needle.
Row 1: knit, row 2: purl (stockinette).
Knit a total of 14 rows.
Please note! On row 15 we decrease 1 stitch on both sides, by knitting two stitches as one. So stick the needle into the first two stitches and knit. Then knit 3 and repeat the knitting together with the last two stitches. Now 5 stitches remain for each ear. Purl row 16.
Row 17: decrease 2 stitches as before.
Thread the needle through the three stitches.
Pull it tight and knot.
Lace the strands into the edges.
Cut off the remaining strands. Still 6 more ears to go!
Sew a pink and a white ear together right sides facing.
Leave the bottom open en turn the ears back, facing out.
Close the bottom edges and sew the ears on the slippers.
Such cute bunny slippers!
