We read a lovely Dragon's picture book to our youngest monsters, because it is almost Michaelmas. The book is called Lot & de Draak and it was written by Dutch author Monique van der Zanden. We already know this author from the fun Verhalenrijk books. But we all especially love this book, about the brave girl Lot!
The beautiful illustrations in this book are made by Sandra Klaassen. If you take a moment to visit her website you will see that she has already illustrated many of the nicest books. She draws and colours the sweetest children, animals and fairy tales with great attention to detail, making the stories come to life for the reader.
As you can read on the back of this picture book, a large dragon appears where Lot lives. The hero of the city will chase that dragon away. But look closely at the Knight, what do you see behind his back? Such a funny, sweet story for St Michael's should not be missing from our bookcase!
