We want to decorate the windows beautifully for Eid-al-Fitr. The moon and stars are a most used theme and it is also one that we would like to use. We used heavy watercolour paper because it is pretty and sturdy, but any other thick paper can also be used.
This is how you make the moon and stars
Download and print the template and then cut it out
First trace all the complete shapes.
Neatly cut out all the shapes.
Cut the inner shapes from the shapes
Now trace the inner shapes on the complete ones.
Cut out the inner star.
Erase pencil marks from the star.
Paint the stars and moon golden.
Let the paint dry completely.
Brush glue on the stars.
Press them on kite paper.
Cut off the excess kite paper.
Allow the glue to dry completely.
Tear the left over kite paper into pieces.
Trace the moon on waxed paper.
Stick the shredded pieces of kite paper in two colours on the moon, in no particular order
Let the glue dry well again.
Stick the golden moon on the painted one.
Cut off the excess baking paper.
Use clear tape to attach the stars to the window.
Use a glue stick to attach the moon, tape does not hold on waxed paper.
We wish you all a beautiful Eid al Fitr! Eid Mubarak!
