Today we are making an Advent wheel for the gnomes that we made last year. We saw this craft here on Franziska Shelton's Instagram. Just take a look, there are the nicest, most beautiful crafts on it. We already made various crafts you see before. So you'll have to look back on snazzie to our blogs from a while ago. :))
How to make an Advent wheel
Trace a large platter on watercolour paper.
Cut out the circle and set it aside for a few moments.
Trace the same platter but now on drawing paper.
Cut out the circle and fold it in half.
Draw a line on the crease, using a pencil.
Cut the circle in half on the line.
Draw a vertical line on the first circle.
Also draw a horizontal line, now you have 4 parts.
Trace 4 small circles for the 4 Advent gnomes.
Make another small circle in the center, the place for a candle.
Draw in the 4 parts something that matches 1 of the gnomes.
Do you remember what the 4 weeks of Advent mean?
- crystals, stones and fossils represent the first light of the stones
- seeds or pods represent the first light of the plants
- a feather, shell or bone represents the first light of the animals
- the rising sun (candle) represents the first light of humanity
Fill your drawings with colour, using colouring pencils
Place the gnomes on the wheel with a candle in the center.
Wishing you a beautiful Advent time!
