What do you need?
a cardboard cover, in which books are sent
pencil and ruler
a Stanley knife and a cutting mat
acrylic paint and a paint brush
scissors
optional: a strip of thick green felt
pinking shears
Today - as promised - we are making a theater to give performances with the Easter finger puppets we made last week. The mini-monsters already have a lot of fun with it, we hope you will soon! It's easy if you have a cardboard cover of books, like Donner or Bol used to send them in. But it is also possible with any other cardboard box.
Here's how you make the Theater
From a box, only cut out the front with the two sides on it, you don't need the back, top or bottom!
First draw on the cardboard before you start cutting, then your theater will be nice and straight!
Draw a rectangle on the sides as shown in the picture.
Draw round corners on the front of the cardboard.
Draw the corners on the sides also round.
Cut the cardboard out using your ruler on the stripes.
This is how your theater looks now.
Draw a rectangle mid-front.
Neatly cut out the rectangle.
How to paint the theater
Allow the paint to dry completely in between!
Give the theater 2 coats of paint.
Cut eggs from the cut offs.
Trace the eggs on the theater.
Use various colours of paint.
Paint the eggs in cheerful colours.
Cut off a strip of felt with the pinking shears.
Stick the felt on the theater.
Decorate the painted eggs.
Your theater is ready for opening night!
Happy Easter!
