How to make this sweet doll's bed
Trace the basket's bottom on the foam with a pencil.
Cut the drawn rectangle from the foam.
Place the mattrass on fiberfill and wrap it, like in the photo.
Knot the thread and tie firmly on.
Sew the fiberfill covering the mattrass closed with a big blanket stitch.
Place the mattrass on the fabric, stick a pin were you will cut the fabric.
Cut the fabric the size of the mattrass, leaving 2 cm extra for the seams.
Fold the fabric, the 'good' side in, pin it 2cm from the edge.
Stitch the fabric closed but leave the underside open.
Turn the fabric, the good side out and slide in the mattrass.
Fold the open side neatly in and pin closed.
You are actually sewing a bag of fabric, leaving 1 shorter side open to slide in the mattrass.
- Finish the seams on the inside off with a zig-zag stitch on the sewing machine or a blanket stitch if you sew by hand.
Sew the underside neatly closed with tiny stitches.
Lace a ribbon through the holes around the edge of the basket.
