What do you need?
pattern paper & pencil
piece of stretch fabric
needle and thread or a sewing machine
We start with the measuring tape. First measure the periphery of your head and add 40 cm to knot. The width of the bandana is up to you, it depends how wide you like it.
Draw the bandana life size on pattern paper.
Cut out the pattern.
Cut the ends round and pointy.
Cut a strip of fabric, amople twice the width of the bandan. Fold the fabric in half, good side in.
Pin your pattern onto the fabric and trace it with a soft pencil. Remove the pattern and cut it out*.
Attaching the yarn on a sewingmachine is stitching forward, back and forward again.
*Trace a line about 10 cm long with a magic marker (the line disappears after a while, like magic!) so later on you can turn the fabric.
Sew on the pencil line until you get to the red stripe, then tie off.
The red stripe remains open to turn the fabric later on.
Sew the edge with a zigzag stitch - 1 cm from your seam - from red line to red line.
If you have too much facric beside the zigzag-stitches cut it off.
Turn the bandana inside out and close the gap neatly by hand.
All done! Those bandana's look terrific!!
