How to simply make sweet hearts for two
Press hearts shapes out of cake (homemade or bought).
Spread as much red jam over the hearts as you like.
Beat the cream until it's stiff.
Spread cream over the jam.
Cover the cream with a second cake heart.
Roll red marzipan thin in between cling film or waxed paper.
Press heart shapes out of marzipan one size bigger than the cake.
Spread cream on top of the cake hearts and press the marzipan on.
Stretch the marzipan carefully around the edges.
Cut the excess marzipan around neatly off.
The heart is ready but you can write a message with edible markers.
Cover the hearts and put them 30 minutes in the fridge to stiffen.
For kids this way may be easier!
Cut the marzipan hearts the same size as the cake hearts.
Cut off a strip of marzipan and place it around the heart.
Gently press the edges together and smoothen them with a drop of water.
The heart in the middle is covered the second way.
The hearts are big enough to share by two.
