We make these super tasty Danish Mazariner, almond tartlets, in mini format because they are quite rich. They are lovely to serve at the children's dolls tea party. The 12 tartlets disappeared real quick. Use molds of 8 cm in diameter.
How to make Danish Mazariner
Put flour, butter cubes and sugar into the bowl and mix.
Add 1 egg when the dough looks like big crumbs.
Knead the dough crumbs by hand into a smooth ball.
Wrap the ball of dough in cling film.
Place the dough for 20 minutes in the fridge.
Grease the molds with a baking spray.
Press little balls of dough into the molds.
Place the molds on the oven's wire rack on parchment.
Mix almond paste, sugar and butter until combined.
Add one by one the eggs and the almond flavour as well.
Fill the dough cases generous with the almond filling.
Preheat the oven to 170 ° C.
Slide the rack with the tartlets into the oven, bake them in 12 min. light brown.
While the tartlets cool on the wire rack we start making the icing.
Stir icing sugar, lemon juice and water into a shiny frosting.
Spoon some frosting on the tralets, preferably a circle.
Let the frosting dry, place the tartlets on a serving platter.
The circles didn't work out but the tartlets are super tasty!
And...at the dolls tea party they look really pretty!
