Our young monsters are very interested in minerals and fossils. they like to collect them too. Every now and then we visit the International Minerals Fair. Piggy Banks are turned over for it, the monsters love it!

Tickets are not that expensive and we really enjoy looking around the venue with them. International Mineral Fairs are regularly organized throughout the Netherlands, so we will go see and visit one again again.

As soon as you enter, you will see displays all around you with the most beautiful minerals, cut and uncut, semi-precious stones and salt stones. The minerals are found in many South American countries, like in Brazil, to name one. In African countries a lot of precious minerals are mined too. A lot of beautiful  stones come from Australia as well.

Because we were already standing in front of the entrance before opening, it was not that busy yet, so that our little ones could have a good look at everything shiny and beautiful too. From noon you can see the large hall slowly filling up. There is a lot of interest in minerals, from young and older!

You see the most extraordinary minerals, from tiny to really big ones, with or without lighting. It's going to be difficult to choose! But 1 thing has already been decided, with unanimous votes, we're taking a saltstone lamp home!

The biggest attraction for our kids is splitting a Geode. They can choose a pretty round stone and then split it themselves. What's inside is a wonderful surprise!

After this adventure we walk to the parking lot, time to go home! All our treaure is safely stored in our bags and a lively discussion about what the best places are for our latest purchases is going on.

The ride home won't be boring!
