a good quality olive oil
20 grams of chili flakes
3-4 dried red chilies

Sometimes you really need chili oil in a recipe but it turns out hard to find. If you buy dried red chili's at a Toko you can make the oil yourself, quick and easy. It's fun to do, it looks good in your kitchen and it makes an lovely gift. Find a pretty bottle and a gift tag and your present looks quite impressive!
How to make Chili Oil
Use a good quality olive oil.
Gently warm the olive oil.
Weigh the chili flakes.
Add the chili's and the flakes.
Leave the pan to warm on low heat for 4 to 5 minutes, then remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly
Sieve the chili oil through a funnel into a sealable bottle.
Put the chili's back into the bottle and close it firmly.
The chili oil also tastes delicious in a dressing for example.
Hints!
Make small amounts as the oil does not keep for long!
Keep it in the fridge, the flakes disappear when the bottle gets to room temperature
You can use the oil to stir-fry as well
