With the feast of Saint John coming in a few days, we make a campfire for the seasonal table. We work on it with the little monsters, but we don't really let them wool felt. They are allowed to take turns giving a few pricks under strict supervision and that is all that is needed for this fire. These needles have barbs and that really hurts if you prick your finger!
How to make a faux campfire
Trace a circle on cardstock and felt.
Cut both out and stick them together.
Cut the (real) twigs in little pieces.
Pull out some little tufts of wool, place on the felting mat.
Prick the underside, so it sticks together on the bottom.
Glue a square of twigs for the fire on the circle.
Glue the fire in the square of twigs on the felt cirkel.
Roll the loose tops of the different colours of wool between thumb and forefinger
Stick the remaining twigs around the fire on circle.
Gnomes and animals are in awe of the beautiful fire!
We wish you, in advance, a wonderful Saint John's Day!
