Shopping list for two people
3 free-range eggs
50 grams of ham, into small cubes
50 grams grated cheese
15 grams of butter
a dash of sea salt
freshly ground black pepper
A simple and quick lunch dish is this omelette with cheese & ham. Really delicious but eat it on a day off because it is considerably more nutritious than brown bread and cheese.
You can not bake an omelet without breaking eggs ;) so...
Whisk the eggs fluffy with some salt and pepper.
Melt de butter in a frying pan which does not stick.
Pour the eggs in the pan, they set almost at once.
The centre of the omelet should be still liquid (look at the picture). Shake the pan a little so the omelet doesn't stick.
Sprinkle the cheese and 3/4 of the ham on.
When the cheese has melted the omelet is brown.
Fold it double with a spatula.
Slide the omelet onto a warm plate and sprinkle the left over ham on it.
Serve the omelet with French bread and a fresh mixed salad.
