Hello everyone,

We promised you all in May that we would share on snazzie how our home-grown beans were progressing.

Here's the rest of our bean adventure!

At the end of May we had 2 beautiful bean plants in pots. We had grown them ourselves from a few small white and brown beans. In June we planted them in the vegetable patch and the plants grew so quickly it was amazing.

Early June the plants did very well.

A few weeks later pods grew on the plants.

The mini-monsters were very proud of the bean plants.

But then we saw the first holes appear in the leaves.

It took a while before we saw who the culprits were, it had to rain a little first and there they came with the whole family!

The whole Slug Family was hungry!

That's where our beans went!

We could save just a few pods.

The mini-monster think the Slugs including their babies are so cute (><) that they did not blame them for their destructive behaviour, slugs have to eat too. A few days later, the plants had completely disappeared ...

We studied the rescued pods from up close.

We saved the beans, in a small box.

Anyway, the mini monsters have learned something from the bean adventure and we did too, this year we will not plant beans in the veggie patch!
