What grows this year in our kitchen garden?
raspberries
strawberries
blueberries
tomatoes
mini cucumbers
mini paprika's
radishes
various herbs
In our biological vegetable garden bij we do not use chemical pesticides, for obvious reasons. It means birds and insects like to eat our produce too. Sometimes it is disappointing because we have less to harvest. On the other hand it is nice to see all the different birds, snails and bees rummage around in your garden.
Raspberries galore, birds do not like them.
We are happy to pick a lot of them off, every day.
The birds do love strawberries.
So we have to watch them and be quick.
The blueberries are loved best by the birds, which is to bad for us.
So are the red currants but the bush hides them well.
We share with the birds, half for each of us and we are happy.
Radish stays difficult, the grow very uneven.
And the insects join in and are eating radishes too.
The cucumbers are doing great, we pick every day.
They are teaspoon size and very tasty!
The bell pepper plant blooms again, it is making new veg.
We have picked off a lot, fresh the peppers are very tasty!
Cucumbers and bell peppers are growing really fast.
The lantern tomato plants have grown very fast too.
There are a lot of tomatoes on the plants.
Now we have to wait, our tomatoes must have a pretty red colour before we pick them. Then we will be back with a delicious recipe.
