In October, the garden enters a different phase, autumn is coming! There is a lot of work to be done now, weeding, pruning, fertilizing, planting bulbs for spring and - if it is dry for a long time - watering. We remove weeds, front and back and cut the hedges a lot shorter! We love to work in the garden and the weather works with us very well! There is a nice sun shining but it is not too hot, alternated with a sturdy rain shower ;))
Not only are we busy with it, the animals in the garden are also busy. J photographs a large bumblebee and a beautiful butterfly, also in large format. Everywhere in the garden snails are on the move. There are lots of berries on the branches, so beautiful!
In the back, in a corner there is the Fire Thorn. It's berries are bright red, the birds love them!
In the middle we have Snow Berries. Why the bush is maned this may be clear ;)
In the Privet hedge we see an abundance of black-blue berries.
The small berries of the Cotoneaster are a bright orange.
Because the elderberry was rigorously pruned last year, it unfortunately has no berries this year, the picture is made in 2015.
About the same goes for the holly in the front garden, there are some berries but much less than other years. But the photo is recently made.
The Japanese anemones bloom beautifully and they have a lot of buds, the lovely white flowers bring light to the garden!
It is nice that the raspberry is still bearing fruit but the pruning shears are also underway!
The strawberry is taking on fall colours and the berries are tiny now.
The Frankenthaler Grape vine is now empty, the small grapes taste nice and sweet.
It is a lot of work to keep the garden beautiful, after pruning you have to sweep up, then washing used materials. But now we just have to put the container back in it's place ;)) When all the work is done it gives so much satisfaction, for us it is more than worth the effort!
We wish you all a happy autumn!
