Apple and Magnolia is the latest picture book by American author Laura Gehl. She wrote it especially for Earth Day (our Dag van de Aarde) and what a wonderful book it is! The story is sweet and funny and also very imaginative. Be sure to watch the video in which Laura Gehl herself reads the book aloud for us.
What can we say about the illustrations by the Spanish illustrator Patricia Metola, the adjectives sound trite but her work speaks for itself. All we can say is brilliant, story and artwork, a golden collaboration in a picture book! We absolutely love Apple and Magnolia and the mini monsters do too, highly recommended this brilliant book! Unfortunately the book is not (yet?) translated into Dutch.
