What do you need to make Picachu?
a square yellow paper
a black marker
a red felt-tip pen
That's it!
Today Joey shows how to create an inflatable Pikachu. Somewhat difficult but Joey is awfully good at origami. Follow exactly all the steps that he does then Picachu will turn out well.
How to make Pikachu
Fold the square in half.
and once more in half.
Lift one side of your square.
Fold the square half open.
And press it down into a triangle.
Rub the angled edges firmly.
Turn around and do the same on the other side.
Press the triangle flat again.
And rub the edges firmly again.
Unfold the paper altogether.
Draw eyes like in the picture.
Draw Pikachu's face and ears.
Let the face and ears dry, otherwise they stain.
Fold the paper back in the double triangle.
Turn the folding over and fold the ears towards each other.
Turn it back and do the same on the other side.
Now you have a square with a diagonal slash.
Fold the tips toward the diagonal slash.
On the right and on the left side of the square.
Turn over and repeat it on the 'ears' side.
Crease the tips on the left and right firmly.
Turn the folding and fold an ear out.
Fold the other ear out as well in the opposite direction.
Turn the drawing again and fold a tip to the inside.
Fold the adjacent tip the same way, crease them well.
Fold the same tip again, now pointing to the outside.
Fold the other side exactly the same, tip facing outward too.
Turn the origami Pikachu, now the folding should look like this.
Turn the folding back again and now it gets difficult!
Hold the tips behind the ear open and fold the tips underneath it in.
If it went well your folding work should look like this now.
Place the point with the dot upward and fold the lower tip upward.
Crease the lower side really well. Turn the folding around (the ears upward).
Fold the downside of the folding to the other side now.
Fold the tip between the ears inward, you see the dot.
Fold the tip also to the opposite side.
Crease all folding edges firmly once again.
Blow air through the lower tip to inflate the cube.
Your Origami Pikachu is totally ready now!
Next time Joey will show you how to make a dinosaur with Origami.
Now you can display the Pikachu in you room, well done!
