white thread & needle or sewing machine
a piece of dark red velor
dark red yarn
flat, white elastic
small piece of ecru fleece
Today we turn a plastic Ikea krukje into a mushroom. Then the little ones can sit on it and it looks a lot nicer in the room ;))
How to make a mushroom stool
Fold the piece of cotton exactly in half and put the stool upside down on top of it.
Trace a circle around the stool on the fabric.
Cut the circle out neatly, on the line.
It has to hang a little bit over the edge.
Pin the two halves of fabric together.
Leave a little part open, to fill
Sew the circle closed but not the fill opening.
Turn the circle inside out.
Fill it thinly with fiberfill.
Close the fill opening with a blanket stitch
Cut the large circle out of red velor.
Cut out the dots and sew them on.
Sew a hem in the circle.
Thread elastic band in.
Place the filling on the stool.
Pull the toadstool cover over the seat.
Your Toad Stool is ready!
