What do you need?
some fallen branches
piece of string
scissors
crepe paper
hobby glue
cotton thread
dried fruit: raisins; apples;
apricots; (mango is voted out)
a large darning needle
Today we are making sticks for Palm Sunday with the monsters, day after tomorrow we will bake the bread roosters. Otherwise it will be too much for 1 day. Wrapping the branches with crepe paper is still difficult for them. And then there is also fruit to be strung! But they do their best and the sticks turned out very beautiful! Tomorrow they will be even more beautiful :))
How to make a Palm Sunday stick
First we put the branches together for them!
Find some sturdy branches.
Lay them cross wise.
Tie a knot with rope around them.
Wrap the string thick and tight around.
Wrap the string cross wise from left to right and then the other way aroud, then tie it off tightly!
Cut narrow and wider paper strips.
Put some glue on the branch, stick a strip on.
Wrap it around the branch from bottom to top.
The branch must be all white.
Wrap the branches nice and thick.
Wrap cross wise around the string.
Stick on all loose ends tightly
Now you are going to wrap the colours, tape a green end on the bottom of the long branch and wrap wide, as you can see in the photo
Also wrap the short branch with green.
Now take red and wrap wide from the top.
The decorating colours you can choose yourself.
Glue on dangling strips.
Fetch the dried fruit.
Place the thread in a large needle.
String the fruit on it.
Tie the fruit onto the horizontale ends.
We are very happy with our Palm Sunday sticks!
The day after tomorrow we will bake the roosters that belong on top, see you then!
